The Harbour Guest House, Stranraer, is well situated for all local amenities such as shops, hair dressers, food & drink outlets, stores, banks and ATM machines. At the Ryan Leisure Centre you will find swimming pools, sauna, hot pools, a very well equipped fitness suite and weights room, indoor hard-courts, a theatre with lounge-bar, a restaurant and, for the kids, the Ryan's Den activity room.

Stranraer FC's football ground is not far from the Harbour Guest House, and we are well situated for the ferries to Northern Ireland, and Stranraer railway station with trains to Ayr & Glasgow for the inter-city links and airports. Free car parking is available at the large car park close to the guest house. We have a secured area for cycles & motorbikes. Walkers & Cyclists are most welcome at the Harbour Guest House.

Most of our rooms offer views over the harbour and the berths at the new marina which was completed and opened last Autumn. There is even a small but clean beach besides neighbouring Agnew Park which offers a children's playground, a sit and ride scale railway and great views over the Loch. The park is very popular during the summer. Loch Ryan itself boats a wide range - and number - of bird species and the low tide area on the eastern side of the Loch is the place to see them. The harbour is usually busy with smaller craft, especially in summer, as well as with the larger ferries. There is a lot to see and do in our region. We have an outstanding collection of public and private gardens (such as Glenwhan Gardens, Castle Kennedy Gardens, Logan Botanic Garden, Dunskey Garden and Logan Gardens) which open throughout the spring - autumn period. The Botanic Garden at logan is especially well worth a visit, as it features many exotic species which flourish in our Gulf Stream warmed climate. At the Harbour Guest House we have two family rooms, one twin room and one double room. The rooms are comfortable and welcoming, and all have a fridge, tea & coffee making facility, colour tv and hair-dryer. Breakfast is a choice of Full Scottish or a lighter, continental breakfast. Matthew & Margaret Thom assure you of a warm welcome to their friendly guest house in Stranraer.
